Do I need to submit a Self Assessment tax return in addition to MTD filings via Abratax?

No. If you are using MTD for Income Tax, you do not submit a separate Self Assessment tax return in the traditional way. For more information, visit our blog for detailed insights into this topic.

Under MTD, you submit quarterly updates during the tax year for your self-employment and property income.

At the end of the tax year, you complete a Final Declaration by 31 January.

The Final Declaration replaces the traditional Self Assessment return and is where you confirm your totals, apply any adjustments, and include non-mandated income such as employment income, dividends, or interest.

Payments on account deadlines remain the same as before.

AbraTax supports the quarterly MTD process and the year-end final declaration workflow.
