Why does FN19 reject free text and not explain whether the issue is new lines, dashes or special characters?

Modified on Sun, 23 Aug at 11:26 AM

FN19 can reject text if it contains a character that is not accepted by the field. New lines themselves are handled by AbraTax before the information is sent to HMRC.

Details

• New lines are converted to spaces before submission.

• An invalid value error is usually caused by a character that is not accepted by the field.

• The current validation message does not identify which specific character caused the error.

• If the error continues, review the text for unusual special characters or contact support for help.
