Why is my tax calculation not deducting payments on account?

Modified on Thu, 11 Dec, 2025 at 3:39 PM

AbraTax shows the tax due for the year based on your entries. It does not net off payments on account you have already made for the current year. It can show payments on account for the upcoming year, but doesn't receive live payment information about those already paid this year.

Details

• AbraTax does not support live payments on account that you have already paid for the current year.

• The calculation on screen is based on tax for the year, plus payments on account due for next year where relevant.

• HMRC holds the record of what you have already paid and applies those amounts when processing your return.

• To see your balance, you'll need to log in to your HMRC account and compare the AbraTax figure with payments already made.
